-quired in Victoria by the Sanitary Department. $11,500 has

been inserted for the provision of three additional public

conveniences an additional number of which are essential to

the health of the community.

COMMUNICATIONS

The principal item under "Hongkong

Roads and Streets", formerly designated "Forming and Kerbing

Streets", is one of $15,000 for the construction of a 10 foot

road which will form a convenient link between Chamberlain and

$9089103.

Plantation Roads and thence proceed in an easterly direction,

opening up some new sites for building. Under "Kowloon Roads

and Streets $20,000 has been included for the prolongation of

Nathan Road in pursuance of the scheme of main thoroughfares

approved in Er. Lyttelton's telegram of 28th. October, 1903.

824,000 has been set apart for the construction of roads in the

New Territories, $15,000 out of an estimated £36,000 for the

final section, between San Tin and Au Tau, of the trunk road

connecting Castle Peak and Sha Tau Kok and £9,000 for a

branch
